Website access
Opening a web page necessarily sends connection information to the server delivering it. Hosting infrastructure may process IP addresses, requested URLs, browser information and request times for delivery, security and troubleshooting. This notice does not promise that visiting a static site is anonymous.
The site’s own page code does not include analytics, advertising pixels, third-party embeds or account registration. Article images are requested from local site paths rather than an external image service.
The local message tool
The contact tool prepares text in your browser. Its fields are not submitted to a server by the tool, and its script does not save them to cookies, localStorage or sessionStorage. Your browser may independently restore form values or offer autofill according to your settings.
Copying places your draft on your device’s clipboard. Downloading creates a plain-text file on your device. Clipboard history, browser behavior, device backups and any application into which you paste the text are outside this website’s control.
Email you choose to send
If you email us, we receive the message, your email address, information you include and ordinary email metadata. We use that information to consider your request, check corrections, respond where appropriate and maintain relevant editorial correspondence.
Our email and hosting providers may process information on our behalf under their service arrangements. We do not sell correspondence or use it to enroll you in a marketing list. We may disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse or security incidents.
Retention and legal grounds
Correspondence is kept only as reasonably needed for the matter raised, editorial records, security or applicable legal obligations. Retention depends on the content and context; there is no single promised deletion period for every message.
Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, ordinary site security and correspondence handling may rely on legitimate interests in operating the publication and responding to requests. Compliance with a legal duty may provide another basis where applicable.
Your choices and rights
Do not include sensitive data or information about another person unless it is necessary and you are entitled to share it. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or to object to certain processing. These rights can have legal exceptions.
Contact [email protected] with a privacy request. We may need proportionate information to verify it. You may also have a right to complain to your local data-protection authority.
Other sites and changes
Following an external link or sending an email brings the relevant provider’s practices into play. See our cookie notice for browser-storage information. If our own data practices change, this notice should be updated to describe them before new processing begins.
